CDM Consultants and H&S services

Health & safety advice and support in line with the Construction Design & Management regulations for clients, consultants and contractors.

Our health & safety team ensure compliance throughout the construction process including HSE liaison, development of safety systems, audit and inspection as well as collation of health & safety files. Early appointment provides the opportunity to raise any health and safety risk issues during the project pre-construction stage when revisions to design can be accommodated relatively easily, avoiding the possibility of a costly redesign at a later stage.

The team has experience of a wide variety of project types in various sectors including education, housing, retail, commercial, leisure, healthcare and historic buildings. These appointments can also be combined with one of our other services to provide an integrated service and offer greater value.

Strategic Advice


  • brief client on their duties under the CDM regulations; develop the CDM brief with the client;
  • carry out design risk review and attend design meetings as required;
  • visit site to get an understanding of the risks in relation to the local environment.
Pre-contract stage


  • review the design and associated risk information;
  • develop pre-construction information;
  • pre-assess health and safety competence of contractors;
  • review contractor CDM tender responses;
  • attend contract meetings and review Construction Phase (Health & Safety) Plan and supporting documents.
Post-contract stage


  • ensure all legal requirements for the project are met: welfare, security and so on;
  • carry out health and safety audits and inspections;
  • attend site / site meetings as requested;
  • prepare the project health and safety file at project handover.
